Hi, I want to get a V input into an Arduino from a VEGA BAR14 pressure sensor which outputs mA. Yes I know I can convert to V. Texas Instruments RCV Linear – Amplifiers – Instrumentation, OP Amps, Buffer Amps parts available at DigiKey. You can make a single-supply current loop receiver with the RCV by using its 10V reference as a pseudo ground. The RCV will convert a mA loop.

Thank you for your help in this matter.

A dmm will show 12v from gnd to positiv and v from gnd to negativ. Hello TI, It would appear two internal diodes could fix this problem forever. Content on this site may contain or be subject tcv420 specific guidelines or limitations on use.
Jan 22, 2: Thanks for your interest in the RCV The powersupply has 3 rails. I copied the output voltage section of the specification sheet below. Let me summarize your replies, please confirm if I’m understanding you correctly. What about Pin10 now; Ref FB – is that left open? This is the correct connection polarity for a sourcing mA sensor. Jan 10, 9: The datasheet is here, but my knowledge is too limited to make sense of it: A mA creates a 5V to 1. The over-range comparator is set 24mA and the under-range comparator is set at 2mA.

It says the min is 10V. If you have further questions related to this thread, you may click “Ask a related question” below.
In the later post rdv420 sounds like you had a connection issue so I’ll disregard this comment. Then mentions you’re measuring the input impedance using an Ohmmeter and you received a result in Volts? The XTR is a two-wire mA transmitter which must be allowed to float relative to system GND in order for the part to regulate its internal voltages as necessary for correct rcv4420 transmission.

That other thread is also very helpful, I will try that too. And there’s no VMax?

Thought I had the right pin outs to this but I evidently don’t have the correct definition for this sensor. If current is flowing the opposite was as intended – is this ‘normal’?
