I liked the idea that Rose was a spy. Believing that storytelling is as much of an art form, she applies those skills to writing. Collis is her training partner and like all men of the era feels he’s superior to Rose.

Rose is a strong independent character through and through. Other things come out in the open, much gnashing of teeth, and eventually HEA.

Who is the charmer? Two people from backgrounds too different to offer any hope of a future, their feelings are doomed before they ever begin. Later, Collis reveals to his Aunt-in-law that, really, what he meant was that the fact that Rose had been abused by her employer’s son is disgusting.

I enjoyed the humor, and loved that Rose was so determined to make something of herself. With every breath, he wishes he had never laid eyes on her. Rose outlooked on the blue-bloods of society is accpetable to a point because not all of the tons is like that.

I liked the characters but found myself skimming thru alot of it the story. Seriously what was the point of including that in the story.
